Location and How to Get There

Ruaha is located in southwest Tanzania along the Great Rift Valley. Visitors can get to Ruaha by road via Iringa which is a 2 hour drive away or by flight.

Wildlife and Natural Highlights

Ruaha National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania. Its Miombo woodland extends all the way to Mozambique. The park has lots of baobab trees, Ambrella acacia, and African sausage trees. Ruaha River is one of the largest rivers in Tanzania and accommodates the largest number of animals in Tanzania’s southern circuit. Its wildlife includes kudus, Sable antelopes, Roan antelopes, wild dogs, waterbucks, bush bucks, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, zebras, and giraffes. Ruaha park has over 450 species of birds.
