6 Days Kilimanjaro climbs via Marangu route + 2 Nights in Arusha
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival into Kilimanjaro International Airport (arrival time to be advice), you will be met and transferred to Tulia hotel and spa you will be book bed and breakfast
Breakfast will be provided.
DAY 2: Marangu Gate (1970m) – Mandara Hut (2700m)
- Hiking time: 4 hours
- Habitat: Rain forest
- Lunch and dinner provided
Leave Arusha town at 8am and drive for 1 hour to Moshi town at the base of Mt Kilimanjaro. Pick up guides and travel onwards to Marangu Gate on the eastern side of Kilimanjaro. Fill out necessary registration paperwork at the park gate.
Hike begins at about 10:30am
Start the approx 3-4 hour walk to Mandara Hut (2700m). Stop half way for lunch.
Reach Mandara Hut at about 2:30pm. Unpack rest and have some tea or coffee.
Dinner is served around 7pm. If you feel up to it, go with your guide to Maundi Crater (about 15 minutes away) as there are views of Kenya and Northern Tanzania.
Bathrooms are available with running water.
DAY 3: Mandara Huts (2700m) to Horombo Huts (3720m)
- Habitat: Heathland
- Breakfast lunch & dinner provided
Breakfast at 7:30am and pack for the next leg. Break camp at about 8:30am and hike for 5-6 hours to Horombo Huts (3720m). You will travel through lower heath land with small shrubs being the main vegetation. Stop half way for lunch. Arrive Horombo Huts at about 3pm. Rest, unpack and prepare for dinner. You will see great views of Mawenzi on the way and the summit of Kibo can be seen from Horombo Huts. Bathrooms are available with running water.
DAY 4: Horombo Huts (3720m) all day.

Even though this day is used as an acclimatization day, you will still walk about 4 hours up to Mawenzi hut and back. Experience summit type weather during your short practice climb Overnight again at Horombo Hut.
DAY 5: Horombo Huts (3720m) – Kibo Huts (4703m)
- Hiking time: 7 hours
- Habitat: Alpine Desert
- Breakfast lunch & dinner provided
Wake to breakfast as usual (if you wake before sunup you can get some great photos of the sunrise). Pack and begin the hike to Kibo Huts (4703m). The first half of the day’s trek will traverses the upper heath land while the second half crosses the vast saddle that connects Mawenzi and Kibo. The saddle is an alpine desert that resembles a lunar landscape. Be careful to notice signs of altitude sickness. The day’s hike should take 6 to 7 hours, stopping half way for lunch. No running water at Kibo Huts.
DAY 6: SUMMIT DAY – Kibo Huts (4703m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m)
- Hiking time: 7 hours
- Habitat: Alpine Desert
- Breakfast lunch & dinner provided
Wake at around midnight as this is summit day! This section happens early morning so you can reach the summit around sunrise. Eat a light breakfast, get your head torch out and around 1am you will start shuffling up to Gilmans Point (5685m), on the rim of the crater. This last part is the toughest and it is where you need to pull out all that mental energy that you never knew you had inside you. Listen to your guides and just concentrate of putting one foot in front of the other….you can do it. Once you get to Gilmans Point around 7am you will move on around the crater for a couple more hours till you get to the Uhuru Peak (5895m), the summit. After a short time to catch your breath and take some pictures you will start the descent back down to Kibo Huts for another rest and to collect your things. Afterwards you continue the descent down to across the saddle to Horombo Huts where you will spend the night. Eat dinner and get some well-deserved sleep.
DAY 7: Continue descending from Horombo Huts to the Marangu Gate.
Breakfast & lunch provided.
Wake as usual, pack and get ready to descend to Mandara Huts. Before starting the trek down you may like to take those last set of pictures of your climbing team as well as give out all the tips. Once you get to Mandara huts, you will take lunch and then continue onto the park gate where you will be met by a Safaris R Us representative and driven Arusha to Tulia hotel and spa for overnight. You should reach the park gate around 2:30pm. Say good bye to your new “Kili brothers” before getting into the car to The school of St. Jude. Have a long over shower on your return! At some point within the next day there will be a debriefing with you along with presentation of certificates.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight back home. (Departure details to be advised by client)

In regards to your climb:
This price includes:
- All park entrance, camping (or hut) and rescue fees,
- All meals and filtered drinking water while on the mountain,
- Guide (Wilderness First Responder certified), cook and porter salaries and fees (porters are paid
- According to national park recommendations),
- Camping equipment including mountaineering sleeping and mess tents (North Face, Marmot and
- Mountain Hardware), foam mattresses, toilet tent, chairs and tables,
- Emergency oxygen bottles,
- Transfer to/from Kilimanjaro National Park,
- Flying Doctors evacuation insurance
Not included in price of your climb:
- The climb does not include gratuities, soda/alcohol, energy snacks and drinks such as Power Bars,
- Personal camping equipment such as sleeping bags, visa fees, hotel in Arusha, airport transfers,
- Travel/health insurance, airfare, or items of a personal nature.

Our Payment Policy
- 20% Deposit is required to confirm a booking,
- The final payment of 80% will be due one month before you arrive so we have enough time to get all the park permits, vouchers and GRR permits for your trip to go smoothly.
- Should the booking be done with less than 30 days before arrival full payment is required to confirm the booking
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be received in writing by emailing us at. All suppliers charge cancellation fees, which they in turn pass on to us. Therefore, reservations that are cancelled reduced in length of stay or in number of people, are subject to cancellation fees.
If you must cancel before your trip, your money will be returned, less the cancellation fees (below).
Following is the scale for cancellation charges:
- 20% (of the total cost of the trip) if made more than 60 days prior to arrival date of which your tour was going to start.
- 50% (of the total cost of the trip) if cancelled between 31 and 60 days prior to arrival date of which your tour was going to start.
- 75% (of the total cost of the trip) if cancelled between 15 and 30 days prior to arrival date of which your tour was going to start.
- 100% (the total cost of the trip) if cancelled 14 days prior to arrival date of which your tour was going to start.
